Dear Whale Tails Chips

Ric,

The Blue Vision Summit was truly excellent all around, hats off to David, Viviana and their team as well as participants.

Grayce loved the chips!

At one point I said “Grayce, you know they’re shaped like whale tails?” She said “I KNOW, Dad!” Since she eats them all the time at home…

Dear Ric of Whale Tails ,

As I’m sitting here eating one of the last bags I’m reminded how Roger Payne, Wyland, Sylvia Earle, Steve Palumbi, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, the whale rescue folks from New England and over 400 other seaweed friends of ceataceans and the ocean really scarfed down your chips that were included in every “Summit Bag”. Thanks again for a salty and delicious addition to what proved to be an inspiring couple of days working to put the blue back in our red, white and blue and the ocean beyond.

Thanks again for your contribution and your dedication,
Best Fishes,
~David Helvarg

Aloha Ric,

Hey, thanks so much for those whalestailschips! they were fantastic at the Blue Vision Summit–my kids loved them, and so did I!

I’m sorry we didn’t get to meet you there, it was a fantastic event. But then, if I lived where you live, I probably wouldn’t be very motivated to come out to cold, chilly DC, no matter how stellar the event!

Pro Peninsula’s 2008 Summer Luanda
Dear Ric,

Thank you for supporting Pro Peninsula’s 2008 Summer Luanda through a donation of your delicious Whale Tails Tortilla Chips for the “Taste of Sand Diego.” Guests raved about all of the dishes and your contribution helped to give the finishing touch on a wonderful atmosphere.

The Luanda was a fabulous success on all fronts. The event grossed over $36,000 from ticket sales, online donations, in-kind contributions and funds raised from the silent and live auctions, opportunity drawing and the giving cactus. We are thrilled with this outcome. Your generous donation helped us achieve that goal; thank you for being a part of this important evening!

Over 130 people attended from both the U.S. and Mexico, making the Luanda a truly binational event. We succeeded in reaching out to the San Diego community, bringing into our family new members and corporate sponsors. Last, and far from least important, the vent brought us all together to celebrate Pro Peninsula’s successes over the past seven years.

Your participation has ensured the contribution of important programs and initiatives that have a significant impact on the lives and communities that make up the unique landscape of San Diego and the Baja California peninsula.

As a sponsor of Pro Peninsula’s Luanda the success of this event, and all that it supports, is yours as well. We look forward to next year’s Luanda and hope to see you there!

Thank you on behalf of the Pro Peninsula family.

Dear Rick Grant Whale Tails Chips,

Congratulations on your success with Whale Tails Chips! We had them as snacks at our 2007 Whale Quest event in Kapalua for the participating elementary and jr. high children, and they loved them! Several of my thank you letters from the schoolchildren mentioned them, and I thought you would like to know.

Best of luck and we hope to see
you at Whale Quest sometime.

Whale Tails Tortilla Chips
Whales spotted in Oklahoma

Hi Ric,

I wanted to let you know that your wonderful Whaletail chips were a big hit among many of the recipients of my gift which included your superb chips and what I believe could be the best salsa I’ve ever had from a local guy in Tulsa Oklahoma at mydadssalsa.com (his salsa is a lot better than his website). I actually ran out of salsa for a few recipients and just tossed them my extra chips and found they were a hit on their own. Your chips were so popular I’ve been asked where they can be purchased locally and have referred all to your website for the best information.

Thanks for making doing business with you easy and for providing a key ingredient the Christmas cheer of many. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the best for the upcoming New Year.

All the Best, Steve

Dear Rick and Ric Whale Tails Chips

I wanted you to know that the Whales Tails chips were a big hit at the Music Festival.

We sold almost all of them, and we offered some to the artists backstage. We definitely heard good comments about them and questions about where to find them for purchase from members of the audience.

Thanks so much. I will send a program to you soon.

MarineBio
Hi Rick,

Just wanted to let you know that I think what you guys are doing is a wonderful idea to raise awareness AND funds for marine conservation. Just wanted to let you know that I posted about Whale Tails in our blog today: marinebio.org/blog and will promote what you’re doing on our site: marinebio.org. We’re a nonprofit marine education and conservation organization with a strong web presence. We get an average of 300,000 visitors per month, so hopefully there will be a mad rush for Whale Tails where they’re available.

Keep up the good work and hope to see Whale Tails in Atlanta soon!

Dear Ric and Rick

Your chips are very good! The “spice” is light and the salt has a nice twist to it. They are also “sturdy” chips that don’t easily break into little pieces, which is great for dipping. I’ll buy them when I see them in the store for sure, for their taste but of course also for the whale logo and your guys’ cool story about the start of the chips…I like the concept of the whale tail being like a spoon for a dip so you don’t need to double dip. I’m keeping some of the chips to dole out to friends.

I am really touched about your and Rick’s idea of wanting to “give back” to the ocean environment…I’ll bet when you surf you’ve seen lots of bottlenose and??? surfing along side you. I’ve seen Humpbacks surfing big swells out off Molokini just prior to a storm.
