Dr. Walter Munk, age 92, the world’s foremost marine scientist for more than 70 years, and recognized as one of the 20th century’s top scientists.

Dr Munk recently returned from Sweden, where he accepted the Crafoord Prize, the world’s premiere science award.    On Tuesday, June 29, 2010 the San Diego City Council also honored Dr. Munk , the world’s greatest living oceanographer , by officially proclaiming that day as “Walter Munk Day”.
